Dr Alex Comfort, M.B., D.Sc., (1920-2000) was a leading expert on human sexuality and one of the most versatile authors of the 20th century.

A pioneer in the study of old age, co-founder of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament, anarchist, social commentator, novelist and poet, he wrote over 50 books and countless scientific papers. Dr Comfort also worked as head of research on gerontology at University College London, a lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry at Stanford University and Adjunct Professor at the Neuropsychiatric Institute at the University of California at Los Angeles. A member of the Royal Society of Medicine and an Associate Member of the American Psychiatric Association, he died in March 2000, aged 80.

Interesting and practical.
An excellent aid to improve already good marriage and to help those who really need help.
Great condition
Not near as good as the original. Doesn't have the charm and wit that made the Joy of Sex so memorable.
Not a dry scientific tome but sex for lovers done right. Can't begin to describe what makes this book so different from others on the subject but a must have. Replacing my original copy from the early 70's, glad to have the real version not the later editions ruined by photos. The line drawings published originally are a lot of the charm of this book. One of the reviews made mention of 'obsession with hair' . . . well when this was compiled it was the flower power era and people didn't wax themselves naked.
Not much change from 20-30 years ago.
A bit smaller edition than the original, otherwise the iconic volume with updated revisions as legend remembers! Great retro illustrations and detailed explanations.
